An architect mentioned that she would be using Squarespace to create a website to promote her business. Being curious, I explored the application and available templates. The templates were described as useful for pages, galleries, photography, business, illustration, and blogs. Also, the website created would be suitable for mobile devices.

In my continuing efforts to keep abreast of what vendors are doing in the area of knowledge base software, I thought I would conduct a  product comparison search. Eventually, a comparison chart promoting PHPKB surfaced. As I analyzed the chart, I decided to perform the demo of the product. The output was formatted well and easy to read. Always remember a good knowledge base is contingent on descriptive categories and metadata that are consistently used. To view the demo, go to http://www.kbdemo.com/ or chart http://www.articlediary.com/article/comparison-of-knowledge-base-management-software-635.html.

  • SpyFu: “A great resource to research what keywords and Adwords our competitors are buying,” says Mohnot.
  • Google Trends: For Mohnot, it’s helpful when he wants “to stay on top of the latest in [his] industry, comparing [his company] to others, and seeing where people who come to [his] site go.”
  • Google Alerts: “We keep alerts for ourselves but also for all of our competitors to know what they are up to,” says Mohnot. (P.S. Don’t forget to set up an alert on your own company to see if anyone else is talking about you.)
  • Other resources you can use to dig up information on your competitors include: Alexa, Compete, Keyword Spy, Hoovers, and ReferenceUSA.
